Sophie Turner has asserted that the media informed her about Joe Jonas filing for divorce. She made this statement as part of her lawsuit against the Jonas Brothers member concerning their children.

In a lawsuit she filed in a Manhattan district court, the Game of Thrones star revealed that she found out about the divorce plans through media reports and considered it quite abrupt.

According to People, Sophie Turner also stated that this revelation occurred approximately three weeks after she and her husband, Joe Jonas, had an argument on August 15. Sophie filed for divorce on September 5.

Sophie Turner for Divorce in Miami

She filed for divorce in Miami, USA, citing that her marriage with Joe was irreparable. The divorce documents, which People obtained, state that “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”

The day after filing for divorce, both Sophie and Joe released a joint statement on social media, confirming their plans to end their four-year marriage.

“After four beautiful years of marriage, we have decided to end our marriage. This is a mutual decision, and we kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this challenging time,” wrote Joe and Sophie on September 6.

Complexities Arising Amid Divorce

However, their relationship has become more complex. Alongside their divorce, they are now dealing with child-related issues.

Sophie Turner has sued Joe Jonas, alleging that he failed to return their children to the UK, which had been agreed upon as their permanent residence. Additionally, he is accused of withholding their children’s passports from Sophie Turner.

As a result, Turner has taken Jonas to the US District Court in Manhattan to “secure the immediate return of the children wrongfully removed or retained.”

The legal proceedings have brought to light the complications surrounding the divorce and child custody, adding further layers of complexity to the separation of the once high-profile couple.
